Wharton Week: Day 2

Welcome back Fash-holes to Wharton Week: Day 2! I hope you enjoyed the amazing fashions that were posted yesterday. Today's post will conclude the runway show, featuring another handful of talented designers. Then, in the following days, I will be featuring individuals whose stand-out style caught by eye on the night of the event. Let the show begin!

I was lucky to actually meet one of the designers of the lux Italian, family owned brand Mason's before the show (see exclusive interview later in the week). He explained that he designed comfortable, cool clothes that he would want to see a woman wear. As the looks came down the runway, I could immediately see his vision come to life.

The next designer to walk the runway was bathing suit and lingerie powerhouse Zinkē. Known for their flirty and fun designs, the looks did not disappoint!

Next came luxury department store, Bloomingdale's. Known for carrying the best designers, their selection of sexy dresses, funky downtown looks and bold accessories were a highlight of the show.

Inspired by the vibrant atmosphere of Palm Beach, Lilly Pulitzer always delivers bold prints in the brightest hues that will transport you directly to the beach. With spring around the corner, these looks were a breath of fresh air. Sadly, this fashion powerhouse passed away only yesterday at the age of 81. I was so excited to see the BHLDN show because I am obsessed with this brand! It is where I am looking for my wedding dress and I love their stuff...all of it. The show, while not focused on wedding dresses, lived up to my expectations. These fun, flirty dresses walked the runway with sharply dressed men, thanks to Suitsupply. Ranked #1 suit by The Wall Street Journal, Suitsupply personifies pure luxury for men with crisp, perfectly tailored suits. I'll be the first to admit, these guys and gals looked good coming down the runway!

This last shot was my direct view for the finale (lucky me!), a loud, crowd-pleasing, fist pumping end to an overall incrediblely curated and well presented show.

Wharton Week: Day 1

Welcome Fash-holes to a very special week of posts from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton Business School's Charity Fashion Show! I had the incredible opportunity to cover this chic event for my blog and this entire week I will be posting runway and individual shots from the night. Get ready for some amazing fashions, both on and off the runway! Wharton Week begins now!

 The runway is prepped as guests arrive. This show raises money for a local chapter of YouthBuild, a non-profit organization focused on helping underprivileged youths attain a high school diploma and post secondary success.

Michael Kors opened the the show doing what he does best: well tailored separates with pops of color and animal prints. All with major accessories, of course.

Next up was Tommy Hilfiger, who gave us classic all-American looks in his standard color palate of red, white and blue. 

 

The third designer to walk the runway was my favorite of the night. I had not heard of Kal Rieman before the show, but I can say that I am now a huge fan. Cally, the designer, creates beautifully constructed pieces for women that are timeless, chic and classic with a masculine edge. I was fortunate to meet her marketing representative, Robin, at the show and got a closer look at some of her speciality pieces, including the double collar button down shirt, a blazer that was as beautiful on the inside as it was on the outside (the mark of a true craftsman) and a sleeveless jacket that I am now desperately coveting (see final look below). Her looks walked with gorgeous Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

The final designer to walk before intermission was Barbour. Barbour is known for rugged, layered looks and impeccable outerwear. All of which was featured on the runway.

 TGIF Fash-holes! I am so excited for the special "Wharton Week" I have planned starting tomorrow featuring runway shots and individuals from the Wharton Charity Fashion Show, but for today, I wanted to share a look of mine from a couple of weekends ago since it has been a hot minute since I featured myself on here! This look comes from a Sunday when I attended the most incredible play called "Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them" produced by the innovative Theatre Confetti. As the temps are warming up (slowwlllyyy but surely), I still have to wear coats, but I refuse to wear my winter jacket, so I have been layering up my spring jackets to keep me warm. I am also on a royal blue kick that started with this uber comfy shirt with a sexy open back (for this day look, I paired it with a flirty tank top. But for night, I just rock a lace back bra, a la Carrie Bradshaw) and continued with the purchase of this Emma Fox bag that I absolutely adore. Learn more about my look here:

Welcome back my fash-holes! Yes, it has been a while since I last posted and for that I am sorry! Between work and coming down with the Spanish Influenza, (okay, it was just the flu, but I'm on a Downton Abbey kick and have a flair for the dramatic) March has been a crazy month, but I have some great fash-hole finds that I am excited to share with you! Today's fash-hole is Julia, an adorable girl I spotted on my way to the gym one Saturday morning. I was immediately interested in her because of her jacket. I love me some faux fur. Today's look is one of my favorites. This is Dee and I spotted her on my way back from the gym a couple of nights ago. I was drawn to her first by her totally cool silver shoes, which caught the light and kinda glowed. Then there was her on-trend ankle skimming skinny jeans...in leopard! Add the cozy, slouchy sweater with the elegant high gloves and I was sold. Not to mention her hair. This is the hair I dream of having (and could have been close to having had genetics worked in my favor...my mom has wildly fabulous thick, curly hair). Danielle: The Effortless Fash-hole

Happy March Fash-holes! We are chugging along and getting closer to Spring, thank goodness! Today, I bring you the beautiful Danielle, who I spotted while out on a walk and as she was heading into work. I was drawn to Danielle's look by the effortlessly chic way she was put together and the subtle details of her pieces. I love the little ankle boots and the way she slightly rolled her jeans up. The flowy top and skinny jeans are a perfect balance and the coat brings the look together with ruffle details along the collar. It also nips in at the waist, giving Danielle a beautiful shape. Top it off with a high bun (I am so jealous as I just recently chopped my locks off. I like it shorter, but miss my high bun more than anything!) and simple pearl stud earrings and she is ready to go! Learn more about Danielle and shop her look here:
